Here are a few pictures to give you a glimpse of our past 3 months with Lukie:
First of all, Shelby's sweet 16 birthday is this weekend and we celebrated today when she came over for lunch. This is the best smile I've gotten from Luke on camera. I told her that was his birthday gift to her. Aren't they both darling?
Emmie has been mommy's big helper
She is always hugging and talking to Lukie. It is funny to hear her mimic my voice as she talks to him "Good Morning buddy," "Emmie is right here." My favorite is when she lifts up his arms and brings them back down, all the while saying in a high pitched voice "up and down, up and down" just like I do with him, and just like I heard my mom doing with her babies!
Our little boy always has to share his space with one of Em's dolls!
Example #2
Example #3 This one you have to look closely to see the little miniature doll she snuck in some kitchen rags on top of Luke.
Yes Luke has been wrapped in a pink blankie!
Baby Andrew, Mike and Erin came for a weekend in February. We had so much fun. Here is this beautiful boy with his gorgeous Aunt Kate.
We had a sports night with the Feathies and watched the boys play some bball. I think they mostly had fun dressing up and being cwaazzy (Jama and Scottie demonstrating that in this family photo).
Family snuggle. We still can't believe we are a family of four sometimes.
And yet another picture with Luke next to "Ella." Poor guy, he just can't get away from her! I think it was John A. who termed the look on Luke's face as "The Featherstone look of surprise." He pulls this face more often than not. Hey, you can't blame him. There is a lot to take in when you are a baby!
We went to the dinosaur museum at Thanksgiving Point with my parents and some of my siblings. We had a great time.
Here we are digging for bones.
Emmie has definitely become a daddy's girl. Jono loves it!
We go on lots of "blankie rides." On this day, Emmie had me wrap up her baby, teddy bear and herself in a "burrito" just like Luke. Signature trends of Feathie babies: the green binkie and the straight jacket burrito wraps.
One of my very favorite moments of the chaotic newborn days. Yes the object on the TV is a maxi pad! Pretty much Emmie realized that anywhere and anything was free game when I was nursing Luke. She would tear apart our house in seconds. It was very frustrating, but when I saw this, I just started laughing. She wasn't quite sure what she had done, but she is smiling proudly in this picture!
Emmie really just needed to get out of the house. This is our happy, smiling girl! She has really been a good sport about staying indoors all the time and I have been so impressed and grateful with her transition of having a new baby brother. She just loves him to pieces and never gets mad at me for taking care of him. She loves being with him and gets SO excited to see him every single morning. It is the cutest thing.
And here is the little guy himself!
